The only credit union to be chartered in Fritch, Texas. Texoma Federal Credit Union is now open to relatives of members and those who live, work, or worship in Hutchinson County.
TFCU was chartered on February 19, 1941. With the original field of membership being the employees of Texoma Natural Gas Company, working in Fritch, Amarillo, Dumas, and Kingsmill, Texas, and Gray, Oklahoma, and members of their immediate families. This was amended in 1957 to the name of Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America. The original office was located in the NGPL building. The field of membership expanded throughout the years to all other office locations of NGPL and Harper Oil Company, along with Buckhorn Petroleum Company, which was wholly owned by MidCon Corporation. In 2001, TING Federal Credit Union of Wharton, Texas, was merged into Texoma Federal Credit Union.
